The Heart Behind Toboggan
Hello!
My name is Sadji Germinal, M.Ed., and I am the founder/teacher at Toboggan Learning Center — a tutoring and flexible learning center.
Over the past decade, I have worked as a private at-home tutor assisting students with Math and ELA homework, a VPK teacher assistant at a early childhood center, and taught 7th and 8th grade math, bringing enthusiasm to a subject often seen as challenging.
Coming from a family of dedicated educators, teaching is not just a profession for me but a deeply ingrained passion. I hold a Master's degree in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s in Education Sciences from the University of Florida.
Besides my career as an educator, I am a mother who loves watching movies, dancing, traveling, and engaging in various crafts.
From Idea To Impact: Our Story
Toboggan Learning Center started with a simple request—a family in our community reached out for math tutoring because their daughter was struggling, and they were unable to provide the help she needed at home. Realizing how challenging it can be for parents to support their children’s education, especially when language barriers exist, we stepped in to assist. Soon, word spread within the Haitian community, and more families reached out for help. Many parents were eager to support their children, but faced challenges with language and educational resources.
Seeing the impact we could make, Toboggan was informally established in 2019, with a mission to provide high-quality tutoring and learning support to students in need. Today, Toboggan is more than a tutoring service; it’s a bridge for families, a place where students gain confidence, and a resource for communities seeking accessible, inclusive educational support.
